MANASSAS PARK _ Rappahannock County ended its football season Friday with a 430 loss at Manassas Park.
The Panthers got off to a good start, surprising the Cougars with an onside kick to start the game and recovering the ball at their own 49-yard line, but things went south pretty quickly after that. ^ After three plays failed to ^woduce a first down, Rappahannock punted the hall to the Manassas Park 12-yard line
On the Cougars’ first offensive play, Manassas Park quarterback Mike Mehus took the snap in the shotgun, darted threw a large hole in the middle of the line and sped down the right sideline untouched for an 88-yard score. With 9:55 left in the first quarter, the Cougars led 7-0.
