Caregiver Workshops
A series of classes providing hands-on training, information and support to tamrly caregivers will be held on Thursdays Nov. 15, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hail. Topics will include hands-on care, safety preventing and dealing with problems, managing medications, working with doctors and hospitals, finding resources, financial and legal issues, coping with confusion and dementia and caring for the caregiver. Nonnative Insects that Are
Threatening Our lives
The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection s Bkxfversity Task Force will host a presentation by Shenandoah National Park Biologist and Forest Past Manager Rolf Gubier on a triad of insect pests that are threatening our native forests: the hemlock wooty adeigid, the gypsy moth (which is back on the rise), and the emerald ash borer (which is on its way here). He'D discuss the park's strategies for managing these pests and what private landowners can do to on their own properties. The presentation is at the Rappahannock County Library at 7 p.m. Admission is free but space is limited.
