At their annual meeting on Sunday, the Rappahannock County Conservation Alliance (RCCA) presented its first Distinguished Service Award to Bob Dennis of Flint Hill for his 'outstanding contribution to conservation in Rappahannock County." Bob Dennis has been a leader in land conservation and scenic easements for more than a decade and is past president of RCCA and the Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC). Here RCCA president, Susan Strittmatter presents the award to Dennis. A panel discussion of issues including land conservation and the ongoing crusade to stop the proposed Dominion Power line in Rappahannock County was also on the agenda with presentations by County Administrator John McCarthy and James Moorman (board member of the Power-Line Landowners Alliance), and Rex Linville (Land Conservation Officer for PEC).
