Rappahannock Rescue Squad took Mrs. Nora Jenkins of Slate Mills to Culpeper Memorial Hospital on August 29. The following day it transported Mrs. Ernest Dodson from Peola Mills to University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. August 31, Robert Dodson of Washington was carried to Warren Memorial Hospital.

oldest son is in his 80's. There are 66 grandchildren, 118 great-grandchildren and she does not know the exact number of great-greats. According to Mrs. Bertha Armel who accompanied the rescue squad, Mrs. Jenkins only complaint to the ambulance ride was that they would not allow her to smoke her pipe in the vehicle. When she got back home she exclaimed, "I am glad to get out of that thing. Give me my pipe.” She returned to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Sam Fincham at Peola Mills to recuperate.
