Later on in the afternoon, at just about suppertime, the sky clouded up and started to rain. The tents were lowered to the ground to keep the rain from coming in. In spite of the rain, a fire was built and supper was prepared. This meal consisted of steak, green beans, peach cobbler, and milk This meal tasted superbly good because of the rain. After supper, we took a close look at our tents and saw that none of them had much water in them. After straightening out our belongings, everyone went to bed.
August 4, 1963 — Today we got up at about 7:00 and prepared for breakfast and Abreu, our next stop. Before breakfast all the tents were put out to dry. Our breakfast consisted of fried potatoes, bacon, and French toast. Everything was cooked well and the meal was delicious. After the meal was eaten, we got our packs ready tor the hike to "Abreu* We checked out and headed on our way. The 3 1/2 mile hike was not hard and we covered it in
