The enchantment and excitement of Christmas as it was 200 years ago will be observed in the Town of Washington on Sunday evening, December 21. Shortly after dark, carolers will mount haywagons at Trinity Episcopal Church and travel through the town carolling. All are welcomed to join in.
Town residents are asked to place candles in their windows as was done in colonial Virginia and in England, being careful of their placement to avoid any problems. “Join the group and discover the real spirit of Christmas,” urged Col. Nels Parson, who is in charge of the event. □
