It can take the form of financial
help, advice on personal problems, or help in filling out government applications or reports. The family of a serviceman or servicewoman stationed overseas or elsewhere in the United States can receive similar aid.
In addition, in the event of a death or serious illness in the family, the Red Cross will notify the serviceman or woman and try to ease the accompanying problems. As a matter of fact, even if a problem not involving death or illness arises where quick communication is necessary, the Red Cross can help. Finally, any veteran who is having difficulty obtaining government benefits due him can go to the Red Cross for assistance.
