First Aid and Water Safety Instruction—Persons associated with schools, summer camps, Scout organizations, Volunteer Fire Departments, Rescue Squads, and other groups where knowledge of First Aid or Water Safety practices is desirable should know that the Red Cross provides free instruction. Last year ninety six people in the county received instruction in First Aid.

Blood—Last year 3.5 million pints of blood were collected by the Red Cross from volunteers across the United States. 595 pints were collected in Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties. This blood is distributed to hospitals throughout the country, including those hospitals of interest to us such as at Warrenton, Culpeper, Front Royal, Charlottesville, and Fort Belvoir. So, next time the Bloodmobile visits the county, make a donation if you can; you or your family may need it back later.
