IF THE “Father of Our Country” could have appeared in Washington Saturday, he certainly would have been astonished and amazed. Charles Manson was surveying the lot whi^h he owns in the town. George Washington made the original survey of ihe Town of Washington, a village which has changed slowly, and still bears the local family names on the street signs, as set forth by him. However, the instruments used by Manson in the surveying profession have in the past ten or fifteen years undergone drastic changes. Instead of a compass and chain formerly used, an electronic device is now employed.
What would George have thought if he'd heard a conversation which included things like, “a microwave impulse is bounced off a prism and the electronically computed figure appears on this dial”?
