OBITUARIES

Walker

Mrs. Mary Wood Walker, 74, of Flint Hill died Saturday, December 6, 1975 in Browntown. She was bom in Earlysville, a daughter of George and Lucy Wood. She was a member of the Baptist Church. A retired registered nurse, Mrs. Walker was a member of the American Nurses Association and Virginia Nurses Association. Her husband Maurice D. Walker predeceased her.

Surviving with a son, Maurice ,(Moe) Walker of Flint Hill are a grandson, Douglas 0. Walker of Birmingham, Ala. and a granddaughter, Miss Joyce F. Walker of Arlington. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday in the Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville with the Rev. Malcolm Maples officiating. Maddox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. □

Dixon

Frank Eugene Dixon, 58, of Front Royal died November 29, 1975 in Winchester Memorial Hospital. He was born in Clarke County, the son of John Thomas Dixon and Lena Sommerville Athey and was a retired carpenter.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nadine Sealock Dixon; three sons, Frank E. Dixon, Jr. of Bronx, N.Y., Vernon R. Dixon and John T. Dixon, both of Front Royal; three daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Pullen of Front Royal, Mrs. Brenda Kerns of Cedarville and Mrs. Mary Hickerson of Chester Gap; three brothers, Elmer Wood of Front Royal, James Wood of Winchester and Beverly Wood of California; two sisters, Mrs. Virgie Thompson of Front Royal and Mrs. Rebecca Payne of Upperville; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday in the chapel of Robertshaw Funeral Home with the Rev. Irving R. Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.D

MEETINGS CANCELLED

The arts and crafts group will not meet during the month of December but will have their next meeting on January 13, 1976.D
