Dean’s List
Richard C. Wayland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wayland of Slate Mills, has been named to the Dean’s List at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for the winter quarter. In order to make the Dean’s List at VPI and SU, a student must maintain a 3.4 grade point average.
Richard is a sophomore majoring in Biology.

Construction
Begins Soon
A spokesman for the Panther Athletic League announced last week that work on the long awaited high school track will begin soon. A crew is expected to start putting in the track in about three weeks. Although the track was initially planned to be ready for the current season, weather delayed construction.
PAL also thanked everyone who contributed to the fund raising effort for the track and congratulated the Rappahannock* High School track teams on their success so far this year.
