Dodson
Stephen A. Dodson Sr. of Stephens City died April 12, 1978, at the VA Center, Martinsburg, W. Va. He was 87.
Services were conducted Saturday from the Jones Funeral Home in Winchester by the Rev. Warren L. Reeves. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
Born May 19, 1890, in Washington, Va., Mr. Dodson was a son of the late Stephen D. Dodson and Mary Dodson. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of Sperryville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Elliott Dodson; two sons, Stephen A. Dodson Jr., of Winchester and Bill C. Dodson of Stephens City; five daughters, Doris Tobin, Mary B. Dodson, Maxie M. Jenkins and Catherine Emmons, all of Stephens City, and Mildred H. Lofton of Winchester; 13 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren; and four sisters, Edith Whorton of Culpeper, Rosie Elliott of Rockville, Ethel Petty of Orange and Iser Atkins of Sperryville. ,,
Hitt
Services for Eva Agnes Hitt of Castleton were held Saturday afternoon at Clore Funeral Home, Culpeper, conducted by the Rev. Don Agner. Burial followed in the Black Oak Baptist Church cemetery near Culpeper.
Mrs. Hitt, 67, died April 13, 1978 in Warren Memorial Hospital at Front Royal following an extended illness.
