1 cup buttermilk
Vi cup light cream.
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, soda and salt. Blend in with pastry blender the butter until it resembles coarse meal. Add the currants, gradually add the buttermilk and mix until dough clings together. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured board and pat or roll into a '/] inch thick round. Cut the scones with a 2” biscuit cutter and place on a buttered baking sheet. Brush the tops with the cream. Bake in a 450 degree oven for 15 minutes. Serve warm.
Helpful Hint:
Use an egg timer when taking a child’s temperature. The patient can hold the timer while the thermometer is in his mouth. The three minutes go much faster when he can watch the sand trickle through the glass.
