Paul Miller is a patient in University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Louis Miller, Jr., of Odenton, Md., spent the week-end with Mrs. Miller and together they visited the elder Mr. Miller on Saturday.

Mrs. M. H. Brady, Sr., is a patient in Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.

First Quarter

Results

F&M National Corporation of Winchester has reported net income for the first quarter of $395,988, or 33 cents per share, down from $417,718, or 35 cents per share, a year ago. The decline was because the company had no security sales for the first quarter this year compared to a profit of $31,600 for the same period in 1977.

Deposits increased $15 million dollars or 11.4 per cent over a year ago to $147.7. Net loans increased from $83.4 million to $100.6 million, or 20.6 per cent; and total assets were up $16.7 million, or 11.2 per cent, to $166.2 million from $149.5 million over the last twelve months.
