He noted that the director, teachers and aides would receive the same overall 6.8 per cent salary increase awarded to the rest of the school personnel.
Currently, there are seven Title I aides. Next year’s proposed budget allows for only six. A full-time aide will be assigned to the elementary math and reading labs and to the highs school reading lab, according to Bloomer. In addition, the single Title I first grade class will have an aide for instructional duties half day and for clerical duties the other half. Both second grade Title I sections will share an aide and the aide for the third grade Title 1 class will divide her time between clerical and instructional duties.
