In my recent appearance before the School Board, 1 tried to make these major points: Let us stop the bickering over the education of the children in this County; let us base all decisions regarding education on what is needed and is best for the children, and; let us get the facts on the record regarding disputed issues for all to consider. Therefore, 1 do not wish to engage in controversy with anyone on these matters — least of all in a newspaper.
But there is an exception: When anyone takes it upon himself or herself to climb aboard me personally in a newspaper, without the courtesy or the courage to tell me to my face what they have on their minds, without signing their name, and worse, to put down in public print malicious misinformation about me — then they cannot expect timidity from Bob Eastham in return.
