During her conversations with insurance company representatives over the past month, Ms. Bruce reported, none had recommended a replacement value policy for the court house. “90 per cent co-insurance is probably going to be the cheapest kind of fire insurance we’ll be able to get,” she said.
As insurance representatives had stated that replacement costs generally go up 10 per cent a year, Ms. Bruce suggested that county buildings be reassessed since the last assessment was done three years ago.
“Why don’t we up the coverage 30 per cent and ask them to bid on that?” proposed Supervisor H. B. Wood. “Thirty per cent on the court house is only going to make it (coverage value) $190,000," Supervisor Butch Eastham responded. He
