Mary Brooke Massie of Washington was cited for reckless driving Saturday after becoming involved in a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Routes 211 and 729, according to Trooper R. A. Baines.

The officer of this investigation showed Miss Massie was driving a 74 Capri when she lost control of the car and turned over several times coming to rest in Mrs. T. L. Eastham’s field at Ben Venue. Miss Massie sustained a slight leg injury.

The same night on Route 622, John William Riley of Suitland, Md. operating a 77 Subaru, lost control on a patch of icy road and struck an embankment. Riley sustained facial lacerations. No charges were made.

On Route 231 Saturday, Tina Marie Satelino of Manhattan Beach, Calif, operating a 79 Chevrolet skidded into a ditch. According to Baines, she lost control of her vehicle on Kilby’s curve where the road was icy. Mrs. Satalino and a passenger in the car, Mary Ann Satalino, were both treated for minor injuries at Culpeper Memorial Hospital where they were taken by the Sperryville Rescue Squad. A number of other unreportable skidding accidents occurred during the weekend.
