Buntin concluded with a plea for the Supervisors to consider purchase of at least some county vehicles in the 1979-80 budget. His request failed to spark any comment—either favorable or unfavorable — from the Board.
The Supervisors immediately answered a second request from Buntin. voting unanimously to authori/.e $S0 from the .general fund to supplement pay for blood tests on suspected drunken drivers.
Buntin told the Board members that Dawn Fisher, the only registered nurse in the county qualified to take blood samples, wasn't willing to take calls at "all flours of the night” for the $10 payment approved by the State Compensation Board.
He added that circuit court clerk Ruth Blackwell had been paying Mrs. Fisher SIS with state funds until notified recently that she couldn't add the extra $5.
Buntin said that most suspects agreed to a breath test but that those who wanted a blood sample had to be transported by a deputy to either Front Royal or Warrenton hospital.
This ties up a deputy for over two hours? he said, in addition to costing the county for emergency room service. The Supervisors agreed to allocate $50 so Mrs. Fisher can be paid the additional $5.
