After several years of ignoring requirements of the Code of Virginia, Rappahannock County appears headed toward hiring a building inspector.
Following, an executive'’ session at last Thursday’s board meeting the supervisors agreed to ask county engineer Fanning Baumgardner to serve as building inspector. Further action was tabled until the supervisor meeting on November 1.
The move came in apparent response to a letter from the state Department of Housing and Community Development dated September 26.
