From Piedmont District, Eileen Day represented a group of citizens with a request for ditches and new culverts to relieve flooding on Route 612.
Edmond Offner criticized maintenance work on Route 612, maintaining that a grader had been up the road, hit a few high spots and left. “He didn’t even touch the bad spots,” Offner said.
According to Askew, most of the damage on Route 612 is the result of flooding caused by hurricane David. “We have roads today in this county that people can’t travel in and out of at all...You’re at least fortunate that you can get in and out,” he told Offner. v
Askew volunteered to meet with residents along Route 612 and look at maintenance problems on the road. Eileen Day agreed to serve as landowner representative and contact person with the highway department.
