He said he had given additional land to cover right-of-way needs for both sides of the road in front of his property but would withdraw his offer if landowners further down the road refused to cooperate.
“I believe I'm opposed to hard surfacing it unless we can do it all the way through,” he concluded, adding that paving only part of the road would be a waste of taxes.
Askew replied that the highway department had dropped plans for hard surfacing due to opposition from several property* owners on the road. “If everybody gets together down there, we’ll get with it,” he said.
