Activity Bus?
To the editor:
I attended the board of supervisors meeting Oct. 4, 1979 and was surprised to hear more complaints about students driving to school. Where is the activity bus that’s needed to keep those cars at home?
Right now the parents are financing the athletic department by buying the gas so the boys and girls can compete on teams for the school. If all of the parents had to drive to and from the school delivering and picking up, it would be twice the cost.
Most of the students try to car pool, but have you people had to pay the phone bills for long distance calls to a near neighbor to ride together any given day?
If you know a better way to serve our children and give them more than bare minimum in Rappahannock, please call and tell me.
