In other requests from St one wall-Hawthorne District, Sean Kilpatrick asked when the Scrabble Road (Route 616) would get some attention, describing it as “the only road crookeder than 729.”
According to Askew, rightof-way has already been donated along Route 616 and money included in a previous budget for the project. “We hope to get it done this year,” he said.
In response to an inquiry from Kilpatrick, Askew explained that work planned for 1981-82 on Route 604 had been dropped from the sixyear plan after funds for the project were included in this year’s secondary road budget.
Carroll Fox also spoke for improvements to Route 616, specifically on a stretch just south of Castleton. According to Fox, three of his friends have had serious accidents on the road over the last few years.
Howard Holschuh asked for continuing flood controls at Rock Mills. He reported that the area has flooded eight times this year with water over the road and bridge.
