Superintendent William Bloomer interjected that the state’s gifted and talented reimbursement rate will be increased from $40 to $50 in the next biennium, a 20 percent jump.
Chairman Beverly Massie suggested that the schools use some of the “many talented individuals” in Rappahannock to conduct mini-courses for gifted and talented pupils.
McDaniel responded ' that the administration was already working on the possibility of' having guest speakers—“noted writers, photographers and artists”—at the Schools. In addition, students could be taken to various special activities in the Washington metropolitan area as part of a gifted and talented program, McDaniel added.
