To the editor:
In a letter dated September 6, 1979, to'the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County I pointed to the fact that throughout this county, and specifically at Amissville, dumpster sites are awash with litter of all kinds and I asked the Board of Supervisors to abandon their apparent blase’ attitude and to take some positive action to enforce ' the local ordinances as pertain to'the use of these dumpster sites.
At that time I described the Amissville site as “a stinking roadside dump acrawl with rats and putrefaction; a niche in'the landscape open to every passerby’s disgust.”
The Rappahannock News of Thursday, September 13, 1979, contains an article titled Supervisors Request Dumpster Patrol in which is stated, in part, “The Rappahannock Sheriff’s Department will patrol county dumpster sites in a move to curb abuse of trash receptacles. Following a short executive session with Sheriff W. A. Buntin at last Thursday’s (September 6) board meeting, supervisor vice^hairman Dick Latham announced' that Buntin had been asked to vigorously enforce trash ordinances.”
