The second community concert of the season will be presented Monday, February 11 in Culpeper County High School beginning at 8 p.m. Featured will be Ransom Wilson with his flute and Nancy Allen at the harp. Of all instrumental combinations. that of the flute and harp is probably the most extraordinary and beautiful.
Wilson is considered one of the most brilliant flutists of his time by one of his teachers, who said it had been a joy to work with him and he would surely have a wonderful career.
He was born in Tuscaloosa. Ala., graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts and studied at the Juilliard School. He has been the recipient of a fellowship from the Atlantique Foundation, was a judge in the International Flute competition in Paris and is assistant musical director for the Chesnut Hill Concerts in Connecticut. <L Nancy -Allen has been a prize winner in international i harp competition. She received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees froijWtJie Ju'N*ard School and has performed with such renowned groups as the Joffrey Ballet. Eliot Field Ballet and the Calimir Quartet.
She has also been second harpist with the New York Philharmonic and is faculty
