"Basically, we cover the type of plumbing that goes in a house. But only seven of them even have plumbing in their homes so it's hard to explain just what I’m talking about.” Ford said. He added that the books designed for the course are too advanced for the mentally handicapped students and so he has to paraphrase and explain the material rather than simply assign a section to read.

"Some of my special ed students will be able to go out and earn a living after they Finish here." Ford predicted. “But some won’t ever be able to even read." he acknowledged.
