Virginia s counties and independent cities last year, has promised to visit all the rest before the end of 1980.
“This is in keeping with my commitment to ‘listen to Virginia’ so that I can give the people of the Commonwealth the kind of representation they want on Capitol Hill," Warner said.
During 1979, Warner appeared in 28 independent cities and 38 counties in Virginia. In the same period, he responded to all 509 Senate roll calls for a 100-per cent voting record, one of only four members of the 100-member Senate to reach that goal.
“It is important that I stand up and be counted on the floor of the United States Senate,” Warner said. “But it is also important that I meet with the people I represent in Washington so that I know their views on issues of great importance to Virginia and the nation."
In addition to Rappahannock, nearby counties of Orange and Madison can also anticipate a visit from Virginia’s junior Senator this year. There has been no word yet as to when he can be expected.
