Every man, woman, and child in Virginia will be liable to the federal government for more than $2700 in fiscal year 1981 if Congress adopts the federal spending budget proposed recently by President Carter.
According to the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce, Virginia taxpayers bear 2.31 per cent of all federal taxes or approximately $14 billion of the $615.8 billion suggested by the President in his budget message to Congress. The per capita share for Virginians was based on a current Virginia populaton of 5,248,000.
