• of Supervisors decided
to employ a trained assistant to help in the local board of assessors in the reassessment of local real estate. This action was taken at the February meeting of the supervisors.
The salary of Treasurer Robert L. Brown was set at S3,200 and another $600 added for a part time assistant. According to Brown this was a savings of $500 and the county needed to save money wherever it could.
The board also investigated the possibility of hiring a health nurse by deducting $1,300 from Welfare Department funds and adding it to the $500 received from TB seal sales. (Things never change, apparently.—Editor)
Capt. and Mrs. J. P. Cook of Flint Hill announced the engagement of their daughter Evelyn Gordon Cook to Maurice Walker, son of Mrs. Mary W alker of Fredericksburg.
