With a 61-46 win oyer Page last Friday, February 1, the Rappahannock Panthers improved their chances for a berth in the Skyline District Tournament.
The Panthers got off to a good start, scoring two baskets within a minute. Both teams had a bead on the basket, but Rappahannock also controlled the boards and led 16-10 at the end of the first quarter.
The Page defenders looked as though they might capture the lead, when they allowed the Panthers only one shot each trip down court for three minutes. Rappahannock's good passing and penetration finally overwhelmed Page and put RCHS ahead 24-14. The Panthers went on to play strong defense and led 28-20 at the half.
