Mrs. Sarah Latham accompanied Dr. and Mrs. Robert Rodgers of Flint Hill on a trip through southern Virginia and into North Carolina. During the four days they visited Shirley, Berkely and Hope plantations, Carter’s Grove, York town and Newport News and in New Bern, N.C. they toured Tryon Palace.
