advanced to third on a double from Nichols and then ran across home plate on Leake’s sacrifice fly. Jeff Jenkins hit his second single of the afternoon to send Nichols home and put the Panthers ahead 4-3.
William Monroe brought in two runs in the fifth inning before Jenkins started things up again for Rappahannock with a single and a steal to second base. Larry Settle was struck by a wild pitch that put him on first. Gary Jenkins walloped a long one to the left fielder who made an error on the play which allowed Jeff Jenkins and Settle to score RCHS. Pops Aylor’s double brought in Gary Jenkins to keep Rappahannock in front, 7-5.
The Dragons scored once in the sixth inning. With Rappahannock at bat, Nichols was walked and then stole second bse Gary Leake blasted a double and Nichols came in to score, bring the tally to 8-6.
