Compton
Funeral services for James Albert Compton were conducted Saturday at the Gore Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper by the Rev. David Lavery. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Compton, a retired farmer, died Wednesday, April 23, 1960 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. He was 81.
Mr. Compton was a past deacon of the Alum Springs Baptist Church and was a native of Rappahannock County.
Survivors indude his wife, Mrs. Ethel Yancey Compton of Rixeyville; one daughter, Mrs. James Broyles of Brandy Station; one son, James Alvin Compton of Rixeyville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Grigsby
Eld ridge (Dutch) Grigsby of Amissville died Friday, April 25, 1980 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Martinsburg, W. Va., following a brief illness.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at Amissville Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph S. Stirman Jr. assisted by the Rev. Harold Carter. Burial was in Hillcrest Memory Gardens near Jeffersonton.
Mr. Grigsby, 62, a mechanic employed by Jenkins Garage at Amissville, was a native of Rappahannock County and son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Grigsby. He was a member of Amissville Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. He is survived by five sons, Robert Alton Grigsby, Kenneth Ray Grigsby and Bruce David Grigsby, all of Amissville, Eldridge Grigsby Jr., of White Post and Buddy Franklin Grigsby of Cast let on; and a daughter, Miss Kathy Diane Grigsby jpf Amissville.
