The Pick Your Own Small Fruits Guide for 1980, published by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, lists 42 farms throughout the state offering strawberries, blueberries and blackberries.
The guide includes a map, directions and notes on whether the fruit is fresh picked or pick your own.
The strawberry crop in Northern Virginia will ripen about May 20 and will continue until June 20.
