Crusade Time
To the editor:
This is the time of year the American Cancer Society makes its plea to the general public for funds to help carry on its research and continue the services it provides to cancer patients everywhere. Approximately 100 women and men are taking time out from their busy schedules to go door to door throughout this county between now and May 31. In rural Rap* pahannock, this means a lot of legwork, time and precious gasoline expended in the effort to ihake the drive for funds a success.
For those who may not know, the local chapter of the ACS maintains items which are available on loan, and free, to any cancer patient who requests them. There are three hospital beds, aids of various types-such as wheelchair, walker, hygiene items. A call to Mrs. Biddle at 675-3449 or 987-8390 will have immediate response.
While strides are being made in the search for cures, and in the knowledge gained, much remains to be done. Please help by welcoming the volunteer when he or she appears at your door.
