Ragland said the new law immediately increases the ceiling on outstanding principal for EE loans nationwide from $4 billion to S6 billion. FmHA has already obligated the S4 billion authorized under the Agriculture Credit Act of 1978. The additional $2 billion will be allocated to the states, about half of it for use this year.
