Figures released today indicated 212.430.000 gallons were purchased in September 1980, or 14,606,000 gallons less than the 227,036,000 gallons purchased in September 1979.
Reduced gasoline use again enabled the state to come under gasoline consumption quotas set by the U. S. Department of Energy (USDOE). Virginia met the September target of 214,783,000 gallons by 1.1 per cent. Other than January and May, Virginia has met the targets for all other months.
