Friday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m., the Jenkins Auction House in Washington will be the site of the Rappahannock Lions Gub’s second benefit auction. The first sale conducted in 1978 under then Lion president Phil Butten’s supervision was a resounding success, raising over $1100. These proceeds were used to support Lions programs of sight and hearing conservation and youth recreation in Rappahannock County.
Income from this year’s sale will be allotted for the same purposes. Again, the use of the auction house and his services as auctioneer are being donated by John Walker Jenkins, so all income will be available for Lions charitable activities.
