Only one application will be needed for the program this year. Once a household is determined eligible, it is provided with a notice that shows how much fuel assistance it can receive. Additional fuel bills are submitted to the local welfare-social services agency until the total amount of the household’s fuel benefit has been used.

Applications for the program will be processed within 30 days. In emergencies, when a household runs out of fuel or receives a cut off notice, a decision will be made on the application within two working days. . The fuel program will end April 30, 1981, or earlier if all funds are exhausted.
