During the period from March 1 to May 15 of each year, it is unlawful for anyone to build a fire located in or within 300 feet of any wooded or brush land. Unless it is between 4 p.m. and midnight. The law applies seven days a week and voers all types of fires including campfires, and burning of brushpiles, household trash, strumps and fields.
County residents should observe these times and burn only on clam, damp days. No fire should be left unattended and the area around the fire should be plowed, raked or cleared to prevent spread of the fire.
Those who are burning should have plenty of manpower, tools and water available. And before the last person leaves, the fire should be cold to the touch. Neighbors should also be advised
