The Rappahannock planning commissioners have proposed that the county's zoning ordinance be amended to allow commercial garages and used car sales with a special permit in an agricultural zone.
At last Wednesday's special meeting, the commissioners settled on the ordinance amendment as the most feasible way out of a tight spot created by inconsistent application and enforcement of the county’s land use laws.
The February 25 meeting was scheduled for the commissioners to act on an application from Hushel • Settle to rezone one acre on Route 729 from agriculture to commercial for operation of a garage with used car sales. At a public hearing two weeks ago, held at the
