Vast military expenditures, carried on for decades and not folly funded by regular taxation, have been the occasion for unproductive and inflationary federal spending and defecits. Real estate speculation has resulted in ruinous housing costs for everyone. Multi-national corporations have drained millions of jobs from the U.S. to goreign shores. It would be difficult to find many “American made” products, some components of which had not been produced abroad. Our nation does not have a rational resource use policy because natural resource plunder is the source of billions of dollars of profit for the wealthy who control world resources - fossil fuels, minerals, forests, fisheries and even agricultural lands. These are some of the causes of our woes and frustration, and until these and similar problems are addressed, no amount of attempted federal budget balancing or social tinkering will produce anything but more crime, violence, public apathy and
