The Rev. Hoover Heflin of Front Royal was a Sunday afternoon guest of Mrs. Maggie Grigsby and Mr. and Mrs. Brew Burke. Saturday visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Grigsby of Castleton, Charles Cannon of Washington and Mr. and Mrs. K. P. Grigsby and Kerry Lynn.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Short of Fairfax were Sunday callers of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Johnson and Ruth Rowles.
Mrs. Vallte Butler returned home Sunday after spending a week with her brother-inlaw and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Beard in Alexandria. Mrs. Butler was accompanied home by Mr. and Mrs. Beard, Mary Stuart and Stephanie. They were joined by Mrs. Rodney Vest and were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Hawkins in Sperryville.
Mr. nd Mrs. James Manwaring entertained at a birthday party Friday evening for their daughter, Lisa. In addition to her sister, Gina, guests were Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Manwaring. Marion Righter, Cheryl Gheen and Melissa Crossman. The girls remained for a slumber party.

Mrs. T. J. Pillar entertained the Sperryville Bridge Club and additional guests Friday evening at her home.
Playing were Mrs. W. H. Cordle, Mrs. Dale Metzinger, Mrs. Roy L. Reeve, Mrs. Brown Miller, Mrs. R. E. Thompsen, Mrs. Frances Tabler, Mrs. H. M. Keyser and Mrs. Elmo Flynt.
