Livestock Chats

Our last 4-H Livestock meeting was held at David Thornhill’s house. It was very special because we had Doc Johnson as our guest speaker. He told us about different animal diseases and how to prevent them. We also talked about different ways to raise money. There was a large turn out for this meeting and several new members. Our next meeting will be this Friday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m. at Timmy Falls farm in Woodville. Timmy will be showing us his 4-H pig project. We welcome all new members. Call the Extension Office for further information. Hope to see you there.
Park Visits

The Monthly Trave’ Report issued by the Natio Park Service shows Ma, visits in the Shenandoah National Park down by 25.1 percent. So far this year, Park visits have decreased by 41.8 percent.
While year-to-date decrease in Park travel can be attributed in part to changeable weather, of special interest to Rappahannock County tourist industries is the decline in Panorama entrance statistics.
March visits through this entrance declined by almost 4,000 from last year. However, the decline in Front Royal entrances is similar.
