Mrs. Blanche Leavell Blake. 81, of Boston died Wednesday, March 31, 1982, at her residence.

A native of Culpeper, she was the daughter of the late Byrd Stuart and Lucie Browning Leavell. She was a founding member of the Culpeper Chapter of the Minute Men and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. A graduate of James Madison University, she participated in many organizations.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Davis Blake Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony Edward Goodard of Boston; one granddaughter and a sister, Mrs. Charles J. Blake of Wilmington, N. C.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Culpeper by the Rev. William Brake. Burial was in Culpeper Masonic Cemetery.
