Ihe oil boycott has resulted in huge savings to homeowners who have come to appreciate the value of conserving energy. The major source of energy conservation in the home is insulation. The dollar results can be staggering.
For example, one major gas company provides statistics that show that if just one percent of the 1.4 million uninsulated homes in their marketing area were equipped with adequate insulation, saving would be sufficient to heat 3,500 single family homes a year. By adding attic insulation to 5 uninsulated homes, enough energy can be saved to furnish all of the energy needs to heat one additional home - 20 percent.
