To the editor:
Something devastating is happening in our school system and we, the members of the Student Cooperative Association (SCA) would like to express our views on the matter. This opinion is our own and is supported by all the students who signed a petition last week that stated: We the students at Rappahannock High School are appalled to learn of the attempt to deny Mr. Wingfield a reappointment to ' the office of principal in the Rappahannock School System. This is unfair to Mr. Wingfield but most of all it is unfair to us (the students of RCHS). To show our support for Mr. Wingfield and our school, which we are fighting for, we have signed this petition.
Of the 442 students who attend RCHS, 315 signed.
We can’t seem to understand why Mr. Estabrook would want Mr. Wingfield removed from his position. After all, wouldn’t we, by attending this school, be aware of his incompetance if it existed? We believe we would. We feel that Mr. Wingfield does his job well and is respected for it.

We would like to lend our support to Dennis Wingfield as Principal of Rappahannock County High School.
We hope his contract will be renewed by the School Board for the 1982-83 session.
