Rappahannock's fruit trees came through last week’s freezing temperatures with little or no effect on the 1982 apple and peach crop, according to county extension agent Rap Owings.
A feeeze at the end of March slowed the budding of apple trees and so buds were still tight and protected against the cold when an unseasonably late freeze struck again on April 6, according to Owings. “The apple crop here is in good shape and we still have pretty good prospects for the peach crop.-' he said, adding,
